The Dunbar School Foundation, Inc. is a 501C(3) corporation organized in the state of West Virginia in order to preserve and promote the culture of excellence fostered by Dr. W.O. Armstrong at the Marion County school established for "colored" students. 

The foundation was organized in 2008 in response to community interest in preserving the school building as a community service site. The organizing meeting took place on Oct. 27, 2008 at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Fairmont, WV. By December of 2008, we had the Federal Tax ID and had registered as a corporation by the state od WV. By July of 2009 we had received the 501C(3) certification from the Internal Revenue Service.  

Currently we have engaged legal help to have ownership of the facility transferred to eh Foundation as we seek repair or replacement of the boiler heating system.
